We love supporting local communities

The Buddy Bag Foundation - Buddy Bags For Children In Emergency Care

We have created the Buddy Bag Foundation in response to the rising number of children who enter emergency care after fleeing violent situations at home.

Restoring a sense of safety and security into a child’s life during a traumatic time is one of the first steps to recovery. By providing these children with a few essential items, we can help make the transition into emergency care a little easier.

To support children in this situation we have created the Buddy Bag to provide comfort when all else has been removed.

Footsteps Counselling and Support was founded in early 2013. We are a Sutton Coldfield based registered charity offering free generic counselling to any individual with a need. Many of us go through difficult times in our lives and we at Footsteps passionately believe, that counselling should be easily accessible to the wider community at the point of need. We offer free one-to-one, open-ended counselling to adults and children of secondary school age.

Counsellors are members of The British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy, hold public liability and professional indemnity insurance and are also enhanced DBS checked.

The aim of Kids Club Kampala is to bring hope and love to vulnerable children and to transform poor communities in Uganda. Founded in 2009, Kids Club Kampala was set up to overcome the lack of hope and self-esteem of children living in situations of extreme poverty, and works to bring about sustainable changes through various development projects and supporting basic needs.

Kids Club Kampala works with some of the most vulnerable and poor communities in the urban slums in and surrounding Kampala, Uganda, currently reaching over 4000 children and their families every week. The children that we are working with come from extremely poor households and the conditions in Kampala’s slums are shocking. People face problems of overcrowding, poor sanitation, insufficient shelter and food insecurity on a daily basis. Many families survive on just one meal per day and cannot afford to send their children to school. In addition to this many children have been orphaned, neglected or simply abandoned as a result of poverty or sickness.
