Can you skate? Or wanting to learn? Well, now is the time to start and play one of the fastest growing sports in the UK, Roller Derby. We’re Southern Co-Ed Roller Derby and we’re based in Rochester, Kent and we’re looking for new recruits to join us for the 2017 season.

So, you can’t skate? Not an issue. We can teach you everything you need to know and even can supply some kit to start you off with. We train complete beginners to play competitively, so, we accept any skill levels. Roller Derby is played on quad skates so this is what you’ll be taught to use and train in.

Southern Co-Ed Roller Derby (SCERD) is formed of three team; Apex Predators (Women’s) Weald Warriors (Men’s) & Rochester Royal Rollers (Rec) and all three are looking for new players.

What is Roller Derby? Roller derby is a contact sport played by two teams of five member’s roller skating in the same direction (counter-clockwise) around a track. Game play consists of a series of short match ups (jams) in which both teams designate a jammer who scores points by lapping members of the opposing team. The teams attempt to hinder the opposing jammer while assisting their own jammer—in effect, playing both offense and defence simultaneously
